About The Role
A Fire Alarm & Extinguisher Engineer is required for a permanent, full-time position based in Slough, Berkshire. The role carries a salary of £38,000 to £42,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Job Description
The company are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Alarm & Fire Extinguisher Engineers to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of alarm systems across commercial and residential sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background and a passion for fire safety systems. Engineers will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest standards of safety and functionality are maintained. A comprehensive understanding of BS5839 is essential to excel in this position.
Key Duties
- Carry out planned maintenance on fire alarm systems, smoke vents, emergency lighting, aspirating systems, water leak detection, and gas suppression panels, attending sites alongside mechanical engineers where required
- Complete remedial works, fault finding, small works, system upgrades, and installations
- Assess system condition and compliance confidently in accordance with BS 5839-1:2025 standards
- Attend emergency call-outs as required
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 4) upon successful completion of probation
- Work independently and manage workload effectively
- Complete electronic documentation and service reports daily
- Provide telephone-based technical support and assistance to clients

Candidate Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Clean UK Driver's Licence
- DBS to be completed
- Firequal Foundation Certification
- 3 Years Minimum experience in fire alarm servicing
