Project Manager - Fire Alarm Installation

We are recruiting for an experienced project manager with fire alarm experience to lead and manage the delivery of fire detection and alarm installation projects. As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of project execution from pre-start through to commissioning and handover. You will oversee site activities, ensure compliance with BS 5839-1 and all relevant standards, coordinate installation and testing activities, drive quality assurance, and maintain robust health and safety management for all staff and contractors on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver fire alarm installation projects up to £2m, ensuring programme, budget and quality targets are met.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, driving efficiency and challenging stakeholders to prevent unnecessary cost or delay.
  • Oversee site resources, ensuring supervisors coordinate labour, materials, deliveries and daily work fronts effectively.
  • Review fire alarm designs and technical documentation, identifying gaps, clashes or value-engineering opportunities.
  • Track project costs, manage budgets, forecast spend and maintain commercial control across all sites.
  • Provide technical guidance to supervisors, engineers and commissioning teams throughout installation and testing phases.
  • Ensure supervisors coordinate installation, inspection, testing and commissioning activities in line with BS 5839-1 and project drawings.
  • Monitor installation quality across devices, cabling, containment and panel works, ensuring compliance and early issue resolution.
  • Manage subcontractors and maintain strong communication with site teams to ensure smooth multi-front coordination.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, address technical queries and drive corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality, ensuring all works follow company procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Engage closely with clients, electrical teams and stakeholders, providing updates and ensuring professional project delivery.
  • Ensure supervisors produce clear, compliant RAMS aligned with company standards and site requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
