Location: Aberdeen (with offshore/site travel as required)

Reporting to: Senior Fire & Gas Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Fire & Gas Engineer to join our Engineering team, supporting projects across the industrial and energy sectors. This is an opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, taking responsibility for the design, development, commissioning and ongoing support of Fire & Gas systems from concept through to handover.

Working closely with clients, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams, you will deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, modify and support Fire & Gas systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce engineering documentation including system designs, calculations, cause & effect diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Develop equipment specifications, technical requisitions and verify material compliance.
  • Prepare work packs, procedures and technical instructions, ensuring appropriate review and approval.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards and relevant legislation.
  • Work closely with clients, vendors, subcontractors and project teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Manage project delivery from planning through to completion, maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets and resource requirements, providing regular updates to clients and management.
  • Raise material and service requisitions, support procurement activities and track project expenditure.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance project performance.
  • Ensure all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) requirements are met and documentation is completed in line with company and client standards.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
  • Fire & Gas vendor training/certification such as Autronica, Siemens, Honeywell, Dräger or equivalent.
  • Experience designing and supporting Fire & Gas systems within industrial, oil & gas, marine or energy environments.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and legislation.
  • AutoCAD experience is desirable.

  • COMPEX Ex01-04.
  • BOSIET/FOET.
  • MIST.
  • OGUK Medical. (Candidates willing to obtain the above certifications will also be considered.)
