Experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer
Gloucester, covering Gloucestershire and surrounding areas
Decibel Fire & Security is looking for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to join our growing team.
This role is aimed at an established engineer who can confidently service, maintain, fault-find and repair a range of fire and security systems while delivering a professional and reliable service to our customers.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Servicing and maintaining fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV and access control systems
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
- Carrying out system takeovers and identifying remedial works
- Completing accurate service records and updating system asset information
- Clearly explaining faults, recommendations and completed works to customers
- Identifying additional works where systems require improvement or upgrading
- Working in accordance with BAFE, SSAIB, British Standards and company procedures
- Participating in the company’s on-call rota

Our customer base includes schools, commercial premises, offices and other organisations throughout Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.
What we are looking for
Applicants should have:
- Proven experience as a Fire & Security Service Engineer
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of fire alarm and electronic security systems
- The ability to work independently and manage service visits effectively
- Good customer service and communication skills
- A professional and conscientious approach to paperwork and compliance
- A full UK driving licence
Experience with systems such as Advanced, Kentec, Apollo, Texecom, Paxton, Dahua or similar would be advantageous. Relevant industry qualifications, including FIA training, electrical qualifications or manufacturer-specific training, would also be beneficial.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours Per Week: 40 - Full-time, Monday to Friday
