Role Description
The Fire and Security Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Poole, responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of fire and security systems.

- Installing and configuring equipment such as fire detection and suppression systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and related integrated technologies in line with company and industry standards.
- Performing routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with relevant regulations and certifications.
- Attending customer sites, responding to service calls, providing technical support, and completing accurate documentation for works carried out.
- Collaborating with project managers and other engineers.
- Adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Delivering professional customer service.
Qualifications
- Practical experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining fire detection, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control solutions.
- Strong technical skills in fault-finding, diagnostics, and repair of electronic security and safety systems, including understanding of wiring, networking, and control panels.
- Knowledge of relevant fire and security regulations, industry standards, and best practices; familiarity with NSI and BAFE requirements is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system schematics, and to follow detailed installation and test procedures.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and maintain professional relationships on client sites.
- Good organizational and time-management skills to prioritize workloads, complete documentation, and meet project and service deadlines.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to customer locations in the region as required by the role.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in electrical, electronic engineering, or a closely related field; prior experience in fire and security engineering is preferred.
