Saracen Fire Protection Ltd is a growing fire and security company providing professional compliance, maintenance, installation and remedial services to commercial clients across the UK.
We work across a wide range of sectors, including education, healthcare, offices, retail, industrial and commercial properties. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Multi-Skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join our team.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Fire & Security Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works, fault finding, remedial works and installations across a range of fire and security systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience across multiple disciplines and be confident working independently on customer sites while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
- Carry out fire extinguisher inspections and maintenance.
- Service and test emergency lighting systems.
- Maintain and fault-find intruder alarm systems.
- Maintain and fault-find CCTV systems.
- Carry out door access control maintenance and repairs.
- Carry out remedial works and system upgrades.
- Attend reactive breakdowns and investigate faults.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.
- Carry out system installations where required.
- Complete service reports, certificates and electronic job sheets accurately.
- Identify additional remedial requirements and provide clear recommendations.
- Liaise professionally with customers, Facilities Managers and site representatives.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant British Standards, manufacturer requirements and company procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and high standard of customer service.

Experience & Qualifications
We are looking for an engineer with experience in two or more of the following disciplines:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Fire Extinguishers
- Emergency Lighting
- Intruder Alarms
- CCTV
- Access Control
- Automatic Gates & Barriers
- AOV Systems
Relevant qualifications and manufacturer training are desirable.
Experience working to relevant British Standards, including BS 5839 for fire alarm systems, would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence is essential.

- Able to complete paperwork and electronic service reports accurately.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Flexible and willing to travel as required.
