Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Fire and Security Engineer role based in the South East and London Area, United Kingdom. The Fire and Security Engineer will install, commission, and maintain fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems, as well as security systems such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection. Daily tasks include diagnosing and repairing faults, performing routine inspections and testing, and ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves visiting client sites, completing detailed service reports, coordinating with project managers and other engineers, and providing clear guidance to clients on system operation and best practices. The engineer will also support system upgrades, participate in on-call rotas when required, and contribute to continuous improvement of safety and security services.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Security Engineering, with practical experience designing, installing, and maintaining fire and electronic security systems.
- CSCS qualification; training can be provided for further qualifications.
- Knowledge of Application Security and Information Security principles relevant to modern fire and security solutions and integrated systems.
- Understanding of broader Information Security and compliance requirements in environments such as healthcare, government, and private sector facilities.
- Relevant technical certifications or training in fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, or intruder alarms (e.g., FIA, NSI, or equivalent) are beneficial.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications, and using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on client sites.
- Effective communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
