R Fire & Security Systems Ltd has evolved from its origins in 1969 as R Security Alarms, where it provided intruder alarm systems to residential and commercial customers across the North West. As client needs and compliance requirements increased, the business expanded into fire alarm systems, CCTV, and access control, now delivering complete fire and security solutions. In 2025, the company merged with another established fire and security business, strengthening engineering capacity and technical expertise while maintaining a personal, reliable approach. Today, the team supports a diverse client base including housing associations, FM providers, NHS organisations, commercial premises, and residential properties, managing larger and more complex estates with minimal disruption. The focus remains on clear advice, compliant systems, and dependable long-term support rather than growth for its own sake.
Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Fire and Security Engineer. The role involves designing, configuring, and supporting fire and security solutions, with a primary focus on secure systems, networks, and applications that protect client environments. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Assessing risks

The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and clients to:

Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in:
- Application Security and Security Engineering to design, implement, and maintain secure fire and security applications
- Network Security and Information Security to safeguard communications, data flows, and infrastructure supporting fire and security systems
- Cybersecurity to identify threats, manage vulnerabilities, and support incident response across client environments

Additionally, candidates should have:
- Relevant experience in fire and security systems, such as fire alarms, CCTV, access control, or intruder alarms, including design, installation, and maintenance
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently in a remote role and manage multiple tasks
- Familiarity with applicable standards and regulations (e.g., BS/EN standards, health and safety, data protection) and a commitment to compliant practice
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for client interaction, documentation, and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in security, IT, or engineering
