Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Glasgow for a Fire and Security Service Engineer. The role involves servicing, maintaining, and fault-finding on a range of fire alarm systems, security systems, CCTV, access control, and emergency lighting equipment at customer sites. The engineer will perform routine inspections, testing, and commissioning of systems to ensure they meet regulatory and manufacturer standards. Responsibilities include diagnosing technical issues, completing service reports, advising customers on system performance and upgrades, and ensuring all work complies with health and safety guidelines. The engineer will also participate in an out-of-hours rota to support the company’s 24/7 service commitments.

- Strong Security Engineering skills, including practical experience with fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and related systems.
- Knowledge of Information Security principles as they apply to modern fire and security systems and data handling.
- Understanding of Network Security and Application Security in the context of IP-based security and monitoring solutions.
- Awareness of broader Cybersecurity practices to support secure installation and integration of connected security devices.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in electrical, electronic, or fire and security engineering.
- Experience working with SSAIB/BAFE standards or equivalent industry regulations.
- Ability to read technical drawings, follow specifications, and use diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on customer sites.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel locally for site visits.
- Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
