Fire & Security Service Engineer – Bedford – £37,000

Salary: £37,000 per annum

Shifts: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30 (On-call rota required)

About The Role

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer to join an FM provider covering one site in Bedford.

You'll be responsible for delivering planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of fire and security systems, ensuring all life safety equipment remains compliant, operational and maintained to the highest standards.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on fire and security systems.
  • First line maintenance for CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and fire alarm systems.
  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs and provide recommendations for system improvements.
  • Maintain planned maintenance schedules and ensure all compliance documentation is completed accurately.
  • Order materials and assist with procurement where required.
  • Escort specialist contractors and maintain accurate tool and equipment records.

Requirements of the Fire & Security Service Engineer

  • ONC or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience servicing, maintaining and commissioning fire and security systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and fire alarm systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards including BS EN 50131, BS EN 50132, BS EN 50133 and BS 5839.
