Role Description

This full-time on-site role, based in the City of Peterborough, involves both service and small works installation across fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control. The Fire and Security Service Engineer / Small Works Installation Engineer will carry out routine maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and minor installation or upgrade projects at customer premises. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, testing and commissioning systems, completing service documentation accurately, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and company procedures. The role also requires liaising with customers on-site to explain work undertaken, provide technical guidance, and support system operation, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and safety.

  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills on fire and security systems.
  • Field service experience, including on-site visits and customer-facing work.
  • Technical support capabilities, including system testing, commissioning, and diagnostics.
  • Maintenance and repair skills for fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control equipment.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Relevant industry training or certifications (e.g., fire and security systems, electrical or electronic engineering) are beneficial.
