Location: Homebased, with occasional travel Job Type: Permanent | Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: £60,000 per annum

Role Overview

Are you passionate about fire safety, compliance, and delivering exceptional services that help keep residents safe? We're looking for a Contract Manager - Fire to join our Resident and Building Safety team. Reporting to the Head of Fire and Building Safety, you'll be responsible for managing active fire safety contracts across our portfolio, ensuring services are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the highest standards.

You'll work closely with contractors, operational teams, compliance specialists, and residents to provide assurance that our fire safety programmes, repairs, and remediation activities meet all legislative and regulatory requirements while delivering an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage active fire safety contracts, ensuring services are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with agreed performance standards
  • Monitor contractor performance through KPIs, audits, certification reviews, and regular performance meetings
  • Oversee reactive repairs, Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions, and planned remediation programmes, ensuring issues are resolved within agreed timescales
  • Manage contract budgets, expenditure, and variations to deliver value for money
  • Provide technical advice and support on active fire safety systems and compliance matters
  • Maintain robust compliance reporting, governance processes, and performance information
  • Develop strong relationships with contractors, operational teams, and key stakeholders
  • Identify, manage, and escalate fire safety risks appropriately
  • Drive continuous improvement across fire safety compliance and customer experience
  • Support policy development and service enhancements that strengthen resident and building safety

Requirements

  • Significant experience managing compliance, maintenance, fire safety, or asset-related contracts within social housing or another regulated environment
  • Strong experience of contractor performance management and delivering service improvements
  • Experience managing compliance programmes, repairs, and planned remediation activities
  • Knowledge of active fire safety systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, sprinkler systems, smoke control systems, and AOVs
  • Understanding of key fire safety legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Qualification(s) in Fire Safety, Building Safety, Construction, Building Surveying, Property Compliance, or a related discipline are desirable
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as IFE, IFSM, or CABE
  • CIH Lvl 4 qualification, or working towards with a commitment to completing
