Fire Damper & Ventilation Hygiene Team Leader / 2nd Engineer

Location: Redhill / Reading / Slough / Oxford

Salary: £29,900 – £32,500 + overtime + bonus + paid travel time

Hours: Days and Nights – 10-hour shifts (including travel)

Employer: Indepth Hygiene Services (part of Premier Technical Services Group Ltd)

Indepth Hygiene Services are looking for Fire Damper & Ventilation Hygiene Team Leaders / 2nd Engineers to join our growing team, working as part of a two-person team across day and night works.

This is a hands-on role involving fire damper inspections and drop testing, commercial kitchen extract cleaning to TR19 Grease standards, ventilation cleaning, identifying and reporting defects, and ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high professional standard.

Depending on experience, successful candidates will either take responsibility for leading a two-person team or work as a 2nd Engineer, supporting the Team Leader with completing works efficiently and safely.

The Role:

  • Carry out fire damper inspections, testing and drop testing
  • Clean commercial kitchen extraction systems in accordance with TR19 Grease
  • Carry out ventilation and ductwork cleaning
  • Identify, record and report defects
  • Complete accurate job reports with photographic evidence
  • Work safely and professionally on customer sites
  • For Team Leaders, take responsibility for the team, site productivity, health & safety and quality of work
  • For 2nd Engineers, support the Team Leader in completing works efficiently and to the required standards
  • Travel to customer sites across the UK, including overnight stays where required
  • Work both day and night shifts depending on operational requirements

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in ventilation hygiene, fire damper testing, ductwork cleaning or a similar role is essential
  • Experience leading a team would be advantageous for the Team Leader position
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the role for 2nd Engineer positions
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check
  • A practical, can-do attitude
  • Good physical fitness and willingness to work at height and in confined spaces where required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to health & safety
  • Good communication and customer service skills
