Description
Harmony is on a mission to be the best life safety partner to work with and for. Rated an ‘Outstanding Employer’ by Best Companies in 2025, we are only getting bigger and stronger — and we’re looking for A-players to help us get there.
We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe.
We are looking for Fire Door Inspectors to join our growing Service team, carrying out professional inspections of fire doors across our nationwide client portfolio. You will be the person our clients trust to assess, report, and advise on the condition and compliance of their fire door assets — working to the FDIS framework and producing accurate, defensible inspection reports that help building owners understand and manage their obligations.
This is a field-based role covering sites across the country. If you are detail-oriented, technically credible, and want to be part of a business that is genuinely committed to saving lives — read on.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fire door inspections across a range of residential, commercial, and public sector buildings in line with FDIS methodology and relevant British Standards.
- Produce accurate, detailed inspection reports for each site visit, clearly identifying defects, remedial requirements, and compliance status.
- Photograph and document findings to the required standard, ensuring reports are client-ready and defensible.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally to clients on site, answering queries and providing guidance on remedial priorities.
- Manage your own diary and travel schedule to meet appointment commitments across your allocated region.
- Maintain accurate records in the job management system, completing all entries on time and to the required standard.
- Identify and flag opportunities for remedial works arising from inspections, feeding back to the Service and Commercial teams.
- Ensure all inspections are carried out safely and in line with Harmony’s H&S requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
