Role Description

The Fire Door Remedials role is a full-time, on-site position based in Glasgow. The role involves inspecting, repairing, and adjusting fire doors to ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.

  • Assessing door sets and hardware
  • Carrying out remedial work such as replacing seals, hinges, and closers
  • Documenting work completed for compliance records

The role also requires:

  • Collaborating with site managers and other trades
  • Following health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area

The successful candidate will be expected to work efficiently, meet project deadlines, and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.

Qualifications

  • Experience in joinery, carpentry, or a closely related trade, with proven skills in door installation and repair.
  • Knowledge of fire door regulations, building standards, and basic construction site safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and compliance reports.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a methodical approach to remedial work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a site team.
  • Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeships in joinery/carpentry; additional fire door inspection or certification training is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different sites in and around Glasgow if required.
