Fire Engineer
Your Opportunity
Fire engineering isn't just about compliance; it's about helping projects work safely in the real world.
We are looking for a Fire Engineer to join our design team, with opportunities available in our London, Liverpool, or Manchester offices.
Our fire engineers are involved in projects from day one, working alongside architects, engineers, clients, and wider design teams to develop practical and effective fire strategies. This is a varied and important role, with the opportunity to work across an exciting portfolio that includes Formula 1 facilities, heritage museums, university frameworks, and complex historic residential buildings.
You'll contribute to fire strategies that go beyond simply meeting regulatory requirements, using sound engineering judgement to develop solutions that are practical, buildable, and appropriate to the context of each project.
What You'll Do
- Support the development and delivery of fire strategies across a diverse range of projects.
- Undertake fire engineering analysis, calculations, and technical assessments.
- Prepare clear and accurate technical reports and documentation.
- Work closely with architects, design teams, clients, and other consultants to influence design decisions.
- Attend project meetings and contribute confidently to technical discussions.
- Support the successful delivery of projects to programme and budget.
- Develop an understanding of how fire engineering integrates with wider design and project delivery.
- Continue developing your technical knowledge and professional capabilities within a consultancy environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
