Fire Engineer | London / Hybrid

We are working with a leading UK provider of sustainable engineering, regeneration, and building-services solutions, supporting major public and private-sector projects nationwide.

They are looking to appoint a Fire Engineer to join their growing Design & Engineering team, supporting a broad mix of regeneration, retrofit, façade remediation, commercial, industrial, and new-build schemes. This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone keen to work across existing Higher-Risk Buildings, complex refurbishment, and evolving Building Safety Act requirements.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary design and delivery teams, helping to develop practical, compliant, and innovative fire safety solutions from early design through to construction and post-occupancy.

The Role:

  • Prepare new-build and retrospective fire strategies in line with UK Building Regulations, ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, BS 7974, and associated guidance.
  • Support work on existing HRBs, including Building Safety Case documentation and Golden Thread information.
  • Undertake fire risk assessments, technical reports, fire engineering calculations, and design reviews.
  • Support façade and external-wall fire assessments, including cavity barriers, fire stopping, insulation, membranes, cladding systems, and interfaces.
  • Carry out site and QA inspections to verify passive fire protection and remediation works.
  • Review contractor drawings, product information, and fire-safety submissions.
  • Collaborate with architectural, structural, and MEP teams, with exposure to BIM coordination and digital design.
  • Engage with Building Control, Fire and Rescue Services, contractors, and clients where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
