Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid Fire Engineer role based in the United Kingdom, with a mix on site and work-from-home activities. The Engineer will contribute to desing reviews, on site inspections, EWS1 and FRAEW assessments, support fire risk assessments, and assist in the development of fire strategies and general fire engineering solutions for residential and commercial buildings. Day-to-day tasks include conducting technical reviews, analyzing façade and fire safety information, preparing reports and engineering justification, and collaborating with survey teams on site inspections. The Engineer will liaise with clients, design teams, and regulatory bodies to clarify requirements, support compliance with current fire safety regulations and standards, and track project progress and documentation. The role also involves continuous professional development, keeping up to date with legislation, guidance, and best practices in fire and façade engineering.

Qualifications
- Solid foundation in fire engineering or structural/ façade engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to fire safety and cladding assessments.
- Experience contributing to EWS1 and FRAEW assessments, fire risk assessments, and fire strategy development for buildings in the UK.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and survey data.
- Clear and concise technical report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Effective collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, including working with internal survey teams, clients, design consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Comfort with hybrid working, including site visits, office-based collaboration, and independent work from home using digital project and communication tools.
- Relevant degree in Fire Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, or a closely related discipline; progress toward or attainment of chartered status (e.g., CEng) is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of UK fire safety regulations, guidance documents, and building codes (such as Approved Document B and relevant standards); prior consultancy experience is beneficial.

Salary
£40,000-£65,000
