Role Description
The Fire Engineer role at Rimkus EMEA is a full-time hybrid position based in the United Kingdom, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the time. The Fire Engineer will develop fire engineering strategies and design solutions for buildings and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

- Reviewing and designing fire suppression and detection systems
- Preparing technical reports and documentation
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Attending client and project meetings
- Providing expert advice on fire safety and safety engineering matters
The Fire Engineer may support forensic investigations, construction projects, and advisory services related to fire and life safety in the built environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Fire Protection Engineering and Fire Safety, with the ability to develop and review fire engineering strategies.
- Experience in Life Safety and Safety Engineering, focusing on occupant safety, evacuation analysis, and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of Fire Suppression Systems, including design, specification, and performance evaluation of sprinklers and other suppression technologies.
- Relevant degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with UK and international fire codes, building regulations, and industry standards.
- Proven ability to produce clear technical reports and communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in consulting, construction, or forensic investigation environments is beneficial.
- Professional accreditation or progress toward chartered or registered engineer status is an advantage.
