Job Description
Location: Aztec West, Bristol (hybrid working)

Salary: £56,000
Ready to use your fire engineering expertise on one of the UK’s most important energy projects? Do you enjoy solving complex safety challenges and seeing your work make a real difference? At EDF, Success is Personal – and the impact you make today can help shape the future of low-carbon energy.
The Opportunity
As a Fire Engineer, you’ll help make sure our nuclear power stations are designed to operate safely and reliably. Your work will support fire prevention, protection, and safety assessments across key nuclear facilities, helping to maintain critical safety functions and supporting the journey towards An Electric Britain.
EDF EPR Engineering UK delivers the design for nuclear island buildings, systems, and equipment for Hinkley Point C and similar projects. Working as part of an integrated team, EPR Engineering supports construction and commissioning while preparing design-replication feasibility and related engineering activities.
You’ll work closely with a wide range of technical experts while contributing to one of the UK’s largest low-carbon infrastructure programmes.
Join a team where your expertise matters. You’ll build specialist knowledge in nuclear fire safety, work on technically challenging projects, and help shape engineering decisions that support Hinkley Point C and future nuclear developments.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
