Role Description
This is a full-time 37-hour week, Mon-Fri. The role involves visiting customer premises within the East Midlands, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire, to inspect, service, maintain, and repair portable fire extinguishers and related equipment in line with current regulations and BAFE SP101 standards. Daily tasks include diagnosing faults, completing documentation and service reports, advising customers on safe and compliant use of fire safety equipment, and escalating any issues that require further technical support. The engineer will also assist with basic installation of fire safety signage and coordinate with office staff to schedule visits, manage parts and equipment, and ensure timely completion of all assigned work.

- Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting and technical support skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with fire extinguishers and associated equipment.
- Candidates should possess field service experience, including working on-site at customer locations and managing service visits independently.
- Candidates should possess effective communication skills to explain findings, provide safety guidance, and complete clear service records.
- Candidates should possess maintenance and repair skills relevant to fire extinguishers or similar safety-critical equipment.
- Relevant fire safety qualifications, BAFE SP101 training or certification, or equivalent industry experience are highly beneficial.
- A valid driver’s license of at least 10 years and no more than 6 Penalty points, good time management, attention to detail, and a commitment to health and safety best practices are required.
- Experience working with businesses or public-sector clients, and familiarity with UK fire safety legislation, is an advantage.
