Principal Fire Safety Assurance Engineer - Defence
Location – Cumbria, hybrid.
Salary - Up to £60k plus benefits - relocation package available.
Please note: Due to the nature of the programme, this role is only open to sole British citizens and requires eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).
We’re looking for a capable Fire Safety Assurance Engineer to provide independent assurance across a complex, high-hazard engineering environment, ensuring fire safety risks are effectively identified, controlled and compliant with UK legislation.

What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting independent fire safety inspections across facilities, plant and equipment
- Assessing compliance against UK legislation and safety requirements
- Reviewing fire prevention strategies and fire risk assessments
- Supporting assurance and hold-point processes across complex engineering projects
- Communicating findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders and regulators

What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience within fire safety, fire risk or fire assurance
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation
- Experience working within a high-hazard, industrial or engineering environment
- Ability to interpret engineering and safety documentation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
