About the Role

An established Chartered Surveying and Property Consultancy is looking to appoint a Fire & Health & Safety Risk Assessor to join its expanding Risk team. The business provides building surveying, project management, advisory and specialist risk assessment services across the UK, supporting residential and commercial clients with high-quality compliance solutions. Job Overview

As a Fire & Health & Safety Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for carrying out Fire Risk Assessments and General Health & Safety Risk Assessments across a portfolio of purpose-built residential developments throughout the London region. This is a predominantly site-based role, with remote working between inspections, allowing you to manage your own diary while supporting residential property management clients across Greater London and the surrounding areas.

You will produce detailed risk assessment reports, provide practical advice on compliance and remedial actions, and help clients meet their obligations under current fire safety and health & safety legislation. You will also attend client meetings where required, peer review assessments and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and British Standards. Occasional travel outside the region and overnight stays may be required.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments and General Health & Safety Risk Assessments
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety (or equivalent Level 3 qualification)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent Level 3 qualification)
  • Strong knowledge of current fire safety and health & safety legislation and industry best practice
  • Experience producing clear, accurate risk assessment reports with practical recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload and travel schedule
  • Excellent communication skills with experience liaising directly with clients
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Based within the London region or within commuting distance, with the ability to travel throughout Greater London and surrounding areas

Desirable:

  • FPA Level 4 in Fire Risk Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Professional memberships such as IFE, IFSM or IOSH
  • Experience assessing purpose-built residential or multi-occupancy buildings
  • Knowledge of British Standards relating to fire and life safety systems
