Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Fire Risk Assessor role based in Ilford. The Fire Risk Assessor will carry out fire risk assessments across a range of residential and commercial properties, identifying hazards, evaluating existing controls, and recommending practical measures to reduce risk.

- Inspecting buildings
- Reviewing documentation and safety records
- Preparing clear and compliant assessment reports
- Advising clients on fire safety improvements and remedial actions
The role involves liaising with landlords, property managers, and other stakeholders to ensure understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in fire safety. The Fire Risk Assessor will also support wider health and safety initiatives, coordinate with internal teams, and keep up to date with relevant UK legislation and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Fire Safety and practical experience conducting fire risk assessments in residential and/or commercial properties.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety principles and UK regulatory frameworks relevant to property and tenant safety.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings clearly to non-specialist stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills to identify hazards, interpret data, evaluate risk levels, and prioritize remedial actions.
- Awareness of Legionella risks and related compliance requirements is beneficial.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in fire safety, health and safety, or a related discipline (e.g., NEBOSH, fire risk assessment accreditation).
- Experience working with landlords, property managers, or facilities teams in a compliance-focused environment.
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage multiple assessments, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in report writing and basic IT skills for documentation and communication.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across London as required.
