Fire Risk Assessor - Harbour Healthcare

Job Title: Fire Risk Assessor

Location: National role with regular travel.

Salary: £45,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus £5,000 Car Allowance

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about fire safety, compliance, and protecting people and property.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments across a range of commercial, industrial, residential, healthcare, and educational environments. You will provide expert advice, identify areas of non-compliance, and support clients in achieving and maintaining the highest fire safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fire risk assessments in accordance with current fire safety legislation and guidance.
  • Inspect premises and identify fire hazards, risks, and areas requiring improvement.
  • Produce detailed fire risk assessment reports with practical recommendations.
  • Advise clients on fire safety measures, emergency procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Review fire safety management arrangements, evacuation plans, and fire protection systems.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, enforcement authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Keep up to date with changes in fire safety legislation, standards, and industry best practice.
  • Support clients in implementing corrective actions arising from fire risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessment documentation.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and fire safety consultancy projects as required.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Fire Risk Assessor or in a fire safety-related role.
  • Min level 4 in Fire Risk Assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and relevant standards.
  • Experience completing fire risk assessments across a variety of premises.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Membership of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), IFE, or another recognised professional body.
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent fire safety qualification.
  • Tiered Fire Risk Assessor Register membership.
  • Experience in residential, healthcare, education, or commercial sectors.
  • Knowledge of passive and active fire protection systems.
