Job Description
Role Summary
Reporting to the Fire Technician, responsible for liaising with garrison teams and contractors in respect to fire related works and queries.
On-the-Job Responsibilities
- Understand fire strategies and associated drawings to review and report on: Fire Doors, Fire Stopping, Fire Dampers and Fire Compartments; (vertical and horizontal) compliance
- Liaise with garrison teams/contractors, monitor and report on the quality/delivery of fire door maintenance and other fire related contractor work
- Timely inspection of fire doors that have been failed beyond economic repair, confirming their final status, recommending the most suitable course for repair/replacement, taking a photographic record and allocating an expected funding stream
- Carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required by the Fire and Special Projects Manager

Course Contents
- Carries out fire safety audit on simple premises.
- Provides advice on fire safety matters to stakeholders in relation to simple premises.
- Identifies fire hazards, fire risks and control measures in simple premises.
- Assesses fire hazards, fire risks and control measures in simple premises.
- Recommends fire risk reduction measures in simple premises following audit.
- Creates post audit reports on the compliance and findings of audits in simple premises.
- Recognises when a situation is beyond the responsibilities of their role and take appropriate action.
- Completes, maintains, and stores data and records related to fire safety.
- Gathers, processes, and shares information for the purposes of fire safety regulation.
- Interprets documents, for example codes of practice and guidance, for the purpose of fire safety in simple premises.
- Manages and organises individual workload.
- Communicates clearly with stakeholders.
- Persuasive and confident in communication to improve fire safety.
- Identifies the key stakeholders in managing fire safety in simple premises.
- Plans and prepares for fire safety activity in simple premises.
- Interprets building plans and information.
- Provides feedback internally on policy and procedure in practice.
