About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Fire Safety Manager to lead and evolve Harrods’ fire safety culture, ensuring our world-famous store and estate remain safe, compliant, and exceptional. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of our customers, colleagues, and partners, this is a unique opportunity to shape the fire strategy for one of London’s most iconic destinations.

The Fire Safety Manager will lead our dedicated Fire Safety Team and report to the Head of Fire, Health and Safety. Driving the development and implementation of Harrods’ fire safety strategy, the Fire Safety Manager will embed best practice, compliance, and a proactive approach to risk management across our estate. From overseeing fire risk assessments and inspections to managing the incident investigations, the Fire Safety Manager will ensure that fire safety standards are upheld and continuously improved.

Working closely with key stakeholders across operations, projects, and events, the Fire Safety Manager will be responsible for offering expert advice and guidance. The Fire Safety Manager will increase awareness and understanding of fire safety through engagement with stakeholders to positively influence behaviours and continuous improvement of fire safety across the organisation.

This role is fully on site, working 5 out of the 7 days a week. This role includes both late shift and weekend cover (1 in 6), and a degree of flexibility is required with some out-of-hour work occasionally necessary.

About You

You’ll be an accomplished fire safety professional with significant experience in large, complex environments. You will combine strong technical knowledge with exceptional communication and leadership skills, able to engage and influence at every level. You will be aware of the latest legislation and codes of practice, able to speak to and drive continuous improvement and best practice.

You’ll also have:

  • A qualification in Fire Safety Management or Fire Engineering at degree or diploma level
  • Membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9999, and Approved Document B
  • Experience managing a fire safety team
  • Experience conducting and managing fire risk assessments and fire safety audits
  • A confident, approachable, and professional manner, with proven ability to build trusted relationships across all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
