About the role:
At Sage Homes, we're committed to creating safe, sustainable homes where our customers can thrive. As our Fire Safety Manager, you'll play a critical role in protecting residents and supporting our commitment to delivering the highest standards of fire safety across our growing housing portfolio.
Working closely with the Health & Safety Director and key stakeholders across the business, you'll act as a subject matter expert on fire safety, providing assurance that risks are effectively managed, compliance obligations are met, and residents remain at the heart of everything we do. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and influence fire safety strategy while making a genuine difference to customers' lives.
This role is based in our Northampton office, with a flexible hybrid working model of three office-based days and two remote working days per week. Regular travel to our sites across the portfolio will form part of the role, typically around 3-4 days per month.

- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Sage Homes' Fire Safety Management Plan.
- Oversee Fire Risk Assessment programmes, providing assurance on the quality, completion and management of remediation actions.
- Partner with internal teams, contractors, regulators and Fire & Rescue Services to ensure compliance with all relevant fire safety requirements.
- Monitor fire safety performance, identify emerging risks and provide clear reporting and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Support resident safety through effective communication, fire safety guidance and incident investigation to drive continuous learning and improvement.
About you:
- Strong experience managing fire safety compliance within a large residential, housing, property or social housing portfolio.
- Excellent understanding of fire safety legislation, guidance and best practice, including fire risk assessments and building fire safety measures.
- Proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, contractors, regulators and external partners.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive actions to completion.
- A customer-focused approach with a passion for creating safe homes and positive outcomes for residents.

Essential Qualifications:
- Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Fire Safety Management, Fire Risk Assessment or equivalent professional qualification.
- Membership of a recognised Fire Safety professional body.
- Demonstrable continuing professional development and commitment to maintaining technical fire safety expertise.
