Key Areas of the Role
Purpose
To drive delivery of excellent service to the client; improving operating efficiency and expanding the portfolio.
To contribute to the effectiveness of the Team through responsibilities and participation in initiatives that support the development of the business in the UK.
The Fire Safety Services Delivery Manager will help develop, manage, and implement Airbus companywide approach to fire safety, working closely with internal Property Teams, Primary Fire Authority, and other statutory agencies.
Responsibilities
The Fire Safety Services Delivery Manager will ensure Airbus maintains legal compliance with statutory fire safety regulations, Airbus procedures, and their properties adhere to Landlord's health and safety obligations.
The role will be based at Airbus – Filton, Bristol, however, other regional sites may become part of their responsibility as the Fire Safety management system is developed.
Under the direction of the XXXXXXX, develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, strategies, and annual action plans.
- Undertake Fire Risk Assessments as required and develop timely action plans.
- Monitor and assist Property Teams with the timely completion of Fire Risk Assessments and remedial fire safety actions.
- Take ownership for fire/local authority enforcement action plans and engage relevant persons to ensure their timely completion.
- Ensure that suitable training, instruction, and communication mechanisms are developed, and effectively delivered so that critical advice is relayed accordingly.
- Engage and inform employees, leadership teams, and senior management team on changes in fire safety legislation.
Please note that this role applies to the entire Filton site footprint, including buildings in hibernation, modifications, extensions, and new build projects. Additional key responsibilities for the role are:
- DSEAR Risk Assessments: Responsible for the initial creation, documentation, and review. If direct execution is outside the scope of this role, the individual will be required to manage these assessments and the actions.
- Fire Extinguishers / PFA: Manage maintenance as well as the procurement of additional or replacement equipment.
- Data Analysis: Review incident data and audit findings to highlight trends or issues, offering advice, guidance, and mitigations to support site operations and tenants.
Job Description
- Develop and undertake audits of managed properties to ensure they remain compliant.
- Investigate and report on incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near-misses, maintain records. Ensure RIDDOR incidents are duly reported. Liaise with the insurance provider in respect of insurance claims, and produce statistics for managers, produce management reports, bulletins, and safety alerts.
- Prepare monthly reports for the Director on all Fire safety related matters, events, and projects.
- Contribute towards and attend the group Safety Committee as required in relation to best practice.
- Liaise with company Environmental Health & Safety Department.
General Fire Contingency Support
- Develop and maintain competencies which will allow deployment to support the wider business.
- To deliver results that meet or exceed agreed Business Plans.
- Close monitoring and management of all direct costs to maximize efficiency at service levels appropriate to each contract; and development and sharing of “best practice” and use of systems and tools to improve margins.
- Close monitoring and management of all indirect costs to ensure these match the requirements for the effective operation of the Contract.
- Ensure the effective delivery of all fire safety works are completed to a high level of customer satisfaction, to a standard of legal compliance.
- Manage the fire risk assessment programmes and ensure robust systems are in place for appropriate fire safety.
- Provide leadership and expert technical knowledge to manage compliance of all aspects of fire safety across all assets, ensuring the services are maintained and improved.
- Assist in procurement of contractors for fire safety work.
- Ensure fire risk assessments, inspections, and audits across the facilities contract, are undertaken.
- Prepare fire safety reports and statistical information for client, management, executive, or board committees as required.
- Design and develop customer-oriented fire safety awareness programs, intended to raise awareness of fire safety regulations.
- Work closely with all staff and operatives across the contract, providing technical advice and support on all aspects in relation to fire safety.
- Support existing and new company Fire related contingency contracts.

Person Specification
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience within property management or a similar sector.
- 5-year checkable history / person check; must be capable of achieving CTC or SC clearances.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Must have a full clean UK driving licence.
- Fire safety qualification, NEBOSH Fire Certificate, or IFE Level 3/4 Certificate in Fire Science.
- Health and safety qualification, NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent.
- Membership of a recognised professional body such as IFE, IOSH, IIRSM, or similar, with demonstrable evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Experience of managing or advising on fire safety at work in a medium to large organisation.
- Experience in researching, developing, and implementing policy and strategy to meet business requirements.
- Ability to conduct investigations into incidents or possible breaches of the RRO and/or health and safety regulations and report on outcomes in a timely and professional manner.
- Working knowledge of building fire safety systems and M&E.

Desirable
- Full member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFireE)
- Technical/Member of the Institute of Occupation Safety Health (TechIOSH/MIOSH) or equivalent.
- 3rd Party qualified risk assessor registered, as per FRA Competency Council.
- Training and effective delivery-related qualification.
- Be familiar with using PAS:79:2012 format of fire risk assessment.
- Previous experience desirable in the service sector.
