About the Role
As a Fire Safety Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, testing, installation, commissioning, and certification of fire protection and fire suppression systems. Based primarily in Aberdeen, this role combines both workshop and site-based activities, offering a varied and hands-on working environment. There will also be opportunities to support offshore, marine, and international projects as business requirements dictate.

Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and certify fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems including portable extinguishers, water mist, kitchen suppression, gaseous suppression (FM200, Novec, Inergen and CO₂), sprinkler, foam, deluge, marine, offshore fire & gas systems, and fire pump packages.
- Refurbish, test and prepare equipment for customer projects.
- Support the installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on fire safety equipment.
- Produce service reports, maintenance records and certification documentation.
- Support customer sites across the UK, including marine, offshore and international projects when required.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
Essential Criteria
- Experience within fire protection, fire suppression systems, mechanical maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to produce accurate service reports, maintenance records, and certification documentation.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and internationally, including offshore environments when required.

Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience within the fire protection industry.
- Experience servicing fixed fire suppression systems, including water mist, foam, deluge, and gaseous suppression systems.
- Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. BAFE, Ansul R102, Draeger BA, or Scott Safety BA).
- Mechanical apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
- Experience with pipework assembly, threaded pipe systems, and compression fittings.
- Offshore, marine, or oil & gas industry experience.
- Commissioning experience and knowledge of fire industry standards.
- Offshore certifications (e.g. BOSIET, MIST, Offshore Medical).
- Forklift, MEWP, or Working at Height certification.
