Fire & Security Commissioning Engineer
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Fire & Security Commissioning Engineer to join a growing and supportive organisation operating across the fire and security sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and taking ownership of systems through the final commissioning and handover stages. You'll work closely with installation and design teams while being trusted as the technical expert on site.
The Role
As a Fire & Security Commissioning Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Commissioning and testing fire alarm, security, and TECS systems
- Carrying out fault finding and troubleshooting
- Completing electrical testing and verification
- Working closely with installation and design teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully
- Ensuring systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Supporting successful client handovers
- Liaising professionally with customers and colleagues on site
- Completing relevant commissioning documentation

What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
- Strong commissioning and/or electrical engineering experience
- Experience of electrical testing and verification
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of relevant fire and security standards
- Experience within Fire & Security would be advantageous, although candidates with strong transferable electrical and commissioning experience will also be considered
- Relevant electrical or technical qualifications
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients
