Operations Manager – Fire & Security
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000
Location: Romford
About the Company
We are proud to announce that one of our valued clients, who are a leading Fire & Security company, are now looking to recruit an Operations Manager experienced in Fire & Security due to their continued growth and expansion. They're a highly established, BAFE-accredited provider of Fire Protection and Security systems with over 30 years of industry experience resulting in them amassing an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality solutions to a prestigious customer base and are now seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to join their growing team in their Romford office.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the Romford branch, ensuring the successful delivery of fire and security service and repair works. You will lead and develop a team of engineers and office staff, maintain high standards of customer service and compliance, drive operational efficiency, and contribute to business growth.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience installing and servicing fire and security systems for an NSI & BAFE registered company.
- Competent in creating method statements and risk assessments in line with CDM regulations.
- Strong knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
- Experience with intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and door entry systems.
- Working knowledge and experience of relevant British Standards and BAFE standards.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional approach.
- Ability to ensure all relevant documentation is completed accurately and on time, including instructions, timesheets, work reports, service reports and expense claims.
- Ability to support company policies and best practice at all times.
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues.
- Computer literate, with good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Competent with IT-related products used within security and communication systems.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Qualifications in BS5839, BS5266 and/or FIA Units.
- Full understanding of PD6662 and NSI standards for security systems.
- ECS or CSCS card.
- Experience in service delivery and supporting business growth.
- Previous management experience at manager or senior supervisor level.

- Be able to satisfy BS7858 vetting requirements and undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

The Ideal Candidate
This role would suit an experienced Fire & Security Manager, Small Works Manager, Service Manager, Senior Engineer or Senior Supervisor who combines strong technical knowledge with proven leadership, customer service and operational management skills.
