Job Title: Fire & Security Technical Support Advisor

Job Brief
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Fire & Security Technical Support Advisor to lead our technical help desk. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support and ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire and security systems, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
The role requires an experienced, flexible, and highly motivated individual who is capable of working under their own initiative and as part of a team.
This is a team-based role, but the ability to work confidently and effectively on your own initiative will be paramount. You must be well presented, a quick learner, and able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Duties can change from time to time subject to client’s requirements and change to the marketplace.
Contractual Information
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Office Based
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5pm with a 30-minute unpaid break for lunch
Salary: £41,000 P.A.
You will receive 23 days of paid holiday plus all UK statutory Bank Holidays, which increases with time served. You will also be auto-enrolled onto the workplace pension scheme after successful completion of a 3-month probation, which you can opt out of should you choose.

Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement procedures for timely and effective resolution of technical issues.
- Monitor and analyse technical support metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex technical issues and ensure seamless customer experience.
- Provide technical support and expertise to customers and team members.
- Keep up-to-date with new technologies and industry standards.
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the team is up-to-date with the latest developments in fire and security systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Manage and monitor cloud-based systems.
Experience
The candidate should have 10 years of solid fire and security background and should:
- Have proven work experience as a technical support supervisor or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of fire and security systems, installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge base of multiple manufacturers' equipment.
- Be able to identify and rectify faults across all disciplines.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to think strategically and implement effective solutions.
- Good understanding of industry regulations and standards.
- Have good IT skills: MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
Skills & Competencies Required (Technical & Practical Experience)
- Commercial, industrial, and domestic installations of varying sizes.
- Ability to install systems on all areas of fire & security to the relevant industry standards (BAFE and NSI Gold).

The ability to compile comprehensive installation documents will be essential in this role. An understanding of electronic devices (mobile phone and tablet) will also be required for document completion and submission.
Education & Qualifications Requirements
- Understanding the requirements of the PD 6662:2017 (including BS 8243)
- Understanding the requirements of the NSI Code of Practice NCP 104 (CCTV Systems)
- Understanding the requirements of the NSI Code of Practice NCP 109 (Access Control Systems)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP Networking Communications for CCTV and Access Control
- Fire Detection and Fire Alarms Systems Unit 1 – Fundamentals
- Fire Detection and Fire Alarms Systems Unit 2 – Design
- Fire Detection and Fire Alarms Systems Unit 3 – Installation
- Fire Detection and Fire Alarms Systems Unit 4 – Commissioning
- Fire Detection and Fire Alarms Systems Unit 5 – Maintenance
