Role Description
This full-time Fire Engineer role is a hybrid position based in the United Kingdom, combining office and site work with some work-from-home flexibility. The Fire Engineer will develop, review, and implement fire strategies and fire protection solutions for a range of residential and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with relevant UK regulations and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting technical assessments, supporting EWS1 and FRAEW processes, performing site inspections, analyzing building fire risks, and preparing clear, concise engineering reports. The role involves collaboration with chartered fire engineers, surveyors, and project stakeholders to provide practical recommendations on life safety, fire safety systems, and façade-related fire performance. The engineer will also support design teams with fire safety input during early project stages, contribute to risk assessments, and participate in continuous improvement of internal methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Fire Protection Engineering, including design and assessment of fire safety solutions.
- Understanding of PAS9980 and external wall assessments.
- Demonstrated understanding of Life Safety and Fire Safety principles, with the ability to apply them to residential and commercial buildings.
- Experience in Safety Engineering, focusing on risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and mitigation strategies for built environments.
- Hands-on experience with Fire Suppression Systems, such as sprinklers, alarms, and other active fire protection technologies.
- Relevant degree in Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with UK fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry guidance (e.g., Approved Documents, BS/EN standards).
- Ability to produce clear technical reports, drawings, and documentation for clients and regulatory authorities.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Professional registration or working toward chartership (e.g., with IFE or similar body) is highly advantageous.
