Fire Stopper Exeter & South West
Location: Exeter, Devon covering sites across the South West
Job Type: Temporary / Ongoing
Pay: £22.50 - £26.00 per hour, depending on experience and own vehicle/tools
Start: Immediate
Harbron Recruit is currently recruiting for an experienced and fully qualified Fire Stopper to join a busy team working across commercial and residential projects throughout the South West.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Passive Fire Protection Installer looking for ongoing work, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Fire Stopper, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining passive fire protection systems and ensuring all works are completed to the required standards and manufacturer specifications.
Duties will include:
- Installing fire stopping systems, including intumescent products, fire collars, pipe seals and cavity barriers.
- Sealing service penetrations through fire-rated walls, floors and ceilings.
- Carrying out compartmentation and remedial fire-stopping works.
- Ensuring all work is completed correctly and in accordance with the relevant specifications.
- Completing site documentation, inspection records and completion certificates.
- Working alongside site managers and other trades.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.

What We Are Looking For
- Fully qualified and experienced Fire Stopper / Passive Fire Protection Installer.
- Demonstrable experience carrying out fire stopping works on commercial and/or residential projects.
- Good knowledge of passive fire protection systems and installation methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
- Aged 25 or over for insurance purposes.
- Willingness and ability to travel to sites across the South West.
- Valid CSCS Card required for the role.
Qualifications & Training
The following would be highly desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 or above in Passive Fire Protection or a relevant construction discipline.
- Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
- Fire Stopping Competency Card.
- FIRAS or IFC accreditation.
- ASFP training or equivalent passive fire protection training.
- Asbestos Awareness.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the relevant experience, training and competency required to carry out fire-stopping works safely and to a high standard.
Pay
- £22.50 per hour Standard Rate
- Up to £26.00 per hour Own Van & Tools
The enhanced rate is available to candidates who provide their own van and tools and can demonstrate current, ongoing experience carrying out fire stopping work on a private or self-employed basis.
Location
The role is based from Exeter, with work available across the South West, including Exeter, Newton Abbot, Torquay, Plymouth and surrounding areas.
