Role Description
The Firedoor Installer role at Redline Fire Doors is a contract position based in Weston-Super-Mare with a hybrid working arrangement, meaning some administrative and planning tasks can be completed from home while onsite work is carried out across local client premises. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing new fire doors and frames, upgrading and adjusting existing doors, fitting hardware and seals, and ensuring all installations comply with relevant fire safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, carrying out site measurements and surveys, preparing materials and tools, and completing accurate documentation for each project. Firedoor Installers will liaise with site managers and clients, report any safety concerns, and contribute to quality checks and remedial works as needed.

- Ability to carry out accurate fire door installations, adjustments, and maintenance in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong practical carpentry or joinery skills, including measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing doors, frames, and associated hardware.
- Understanding of fire safety principles, building regulations, and manufacturer guidelines relevant to fire doors and passive fire protection.
- Competence in reading technical drawings, performing site surveys, and documenting work clearly for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Proficient use of hand and power tools, with a strong focus on safe working practices and adherence to health and safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills for working with clients, site managers, and colleagues, and the ability to provide clear updates and feedback.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills, including planning daily workloads, traveling to sites, and meeting project deadlines.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in carpentry, joinery, or fire door installation (e.g., accredited fire door training) are highly beneficial.
- Experience in construction, property maintenance, or fire safety environments is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license and access to transport suitable for attending multiple sites in and around Weston-Super-Mare.
