Firewall Engineer
Harvey Nash is now inviting candidates to apply for the role of Firewall Engineer, an initial 6 month contract to be hybrid in Reading.
Salary: £500 - £700 a day.
Contract Type: Inside of IR35 / Umbrella.
Role Overview: This is a support role for a newly established “Network & Security” team within the Cyber Resilience Programme. An initial focus on discovery and documentation of the existing firewall estate, followed by hands-on support of the firewall environment as part of Business As Usual (BAU) operations and project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience working as a Firewall Engineer within a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Check Point firewalls, including policy design, implementation, and operational support.
- Experience with both physical and virtual firewall platforms, including cloud hosted firewall environments.
- Experience supporting firewall services across both operational (BAU) and project based workstreams.
- Strong documentation skills, with experience capturing as-is environments and producing clear, structured technical documentation.
- Good understanding of network security principles, firewall architectures, and secure network design.
