Firewall & Network Security Engineer – Contract
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 months
We’re looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to manage and secure large-scale, multi-vendor firewall environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, and Check Point firewalls.
- Design, implement, and optimize firewall policies and rules.
- Perform firewall rule reviews, cleanup, and recertification.
- Manage NAT, Site-to-Site, and Remote Access VPNs.
- Implement network segmentation and micro-segmentation.
- Support IDS/IPS, DDoS, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), and NAC.
- Conduct risk assessments and firewall risk reduction.
- Troubleshoot network security incidents and complex issues.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, audit, and compliance teams.

Experience in financial services or regulated environments is desirable. Certifications such as PCNSE, CCNP/CCIE Security, CISSP, CCSA/CCSE, or CCSP are advantageous.
