First Line Manager (FLM)
Are you an experienced warehouse leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume operation? Do you enjoy driving performance, coordinating teams and ensuring seamless operational flow? Are you confident balancing customer expectations, productivity and people management on shift?
Here at GXO, we’re recruiting for First Line Managers (FLM) to support our operation in Sherburn (Leeds). This is a full-time permanent role, working a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (07:00 – 19:00 or 19:00 - 07:00), where you’ll take responsibility for leading operational activity, coordinating teams and ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods across the warehouse.

We’re looking to offer a salary of £33,000 along with 23 days annual leave plus company-sponsored pension, life assurance, access to our 24/7 online GP service and a comprehensive employee assistance programme.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day
- Take ownership of shift performance, coordinating team leaders and operational activities to ensure the efficient flow of goods through the warehouse in line with customer SLAs and KPIs
- Monitor real-time operational performance, proactively identifying risks to service delivery and implementing corrective actions to maintain productivity, accuracy and service standards
- Plan and manage labour requirements in collaboration with the Shift Manager, ensuring resource levels are aligned to volume forecasts and operational demands
- Lead, coach and develop your team, driving engagement, accountability and performance while addressing any conduct, capability or training needs
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across operations, transport and customer teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment to deliver operational objectives

What You Need to Succeed at GXO
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics leadership role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong people management capability, with experience leading teams, managing performance and driving engagement
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and using data to monitor and improve performance
- Good organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to plan resources and respond to changing operational demands
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
