Here at GXO, we’re currently recruiting for a First Line Manager to join our team in Northampton. You will provide hands-on leadership to our warehouse teams, driving performance, productivity and service across stock operation.
These are full-time, permanent roles, working any 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Take full responsibility for shift performance, leading and directing warehouse operatives to ensure productivity, accuracy and service levels are consistently achieved
- Monitor and analyse team performance using operational systems (such as WMS and reporting tools), identifying trends and implementing actions to improve efficiency and output
- Lead, coach and develop your team through regular engagement, including 1-2-1s, performance reviews and training plans, building a high-performance and engaged workforce
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards, promoting a safety-first culture through visible leadership and adherence to all procedures and policies
- Drive continuous improvement activities across the operation, identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions to enhance performance and reduce risk
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven leadership experience within a warehouse, fulfilment or outbound environment
- Ability to coach, develop and motivate teams to deliver high performance
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good understanding of warehouse processes and system usage
- Calm, organised approach with excellent attention to detail
