About the role:
Within our First Response division, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee First Response Technician. This role involves working independently in customers’ homes, making safe, professional decisions while following agreed processes and standards. It’s an exciting entry-level opportunity that will give you the chance to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, assisting with fire, water, and accidental damage restoration projects.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Trainee First Response Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our experienced team with the restoration of properties damaged by fire, water, or other accidental damage.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with restoring, drying, and sanitising tasks following water or fire damage.
- Providing excellent customer service to policyholders and other relevant parties.
- Carrying out mitigation works in a property to prevent any secondary damage being caused.
- Helping to monitor and install correct drying equipment on-site.
- Participating in assessments and reporting, ensuring that all necessary documents, photographs, and communications are accurately recorded.
- Working closely with our First Response Technicians and Team Leaders to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
- Always maintaining health and safety standards.
- Adaptability and understanding that the nature of our work is reactive, and so can involve irregular working hours from time to time.
Key Requirements:
We want someone who is driven, customer-focused, and eager to learn. As an employer we will provide you with full training, which is a mix of on-the-job learning, shadowing and formal development.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and helping people in difficult circumstances.
- An eagerness to join a company offering long-term career development and progression.
- The ability to manage your time effectively and work without close supervision.
- Comfortability following systems and processes accurately.
- Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous learning.
- Basic computer knowledge and strong administrative skills.
- A full, clean driving license with no more than 3 points.
- Previous experience in damage restoration (preferable but not essential).
- Familiarity with the insurance claims process (desirable but not essential).
