Paid Internship West Bromwich Albion Training Ground

West Bromwich Albion Football Club is offering two funded MSc placement opportunities within the First Team Performance Analysis Department for the 2026/27 season in collaboration with the University of Worcester. This placement provides hands-on experience supporting a Championship first team whilst studying towards an MSc in Applied Sports Performance Analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Film, code and analyse training sessions and matches.
- Support opposition, live match-day and post-match analysis.
- Create video clips, visual feedback and performance reports.
- Maintain best-practice video libraries and performance databases.
- Develop dashboards and statistical outputs using industry-leading software.
- Contribute to innovation and workflow improvement projects.

Ideal Candidate
- 2:1 degree (or predicted) in a sport-related subject
- Undertaking a master’s level degree in a sports science related field
- Highly numerate with strong IT skills and applies logic to solve problems
- Has experience in the use of performance analysis software(s) to feedback actionable insights.
- Strong tactical understanding, excellent communication, attention to detail and professionalism.
- Confidentiality and Discretion are of paramount importance
Placement Details
- Two positions available
- 18 hours per week (approximately 3 days), including match-days as required August 2026 – May 2027. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays if required.
- Based at West Bromwich Albion Training Ground
- Bursary contributing towards MSc tuition fees
