Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled First Team Performance Analyst to join the first team performance analysis department.
Based at our Clayton Wood Training Ground, this role is integral to the success of the first team, bridging the gap between analysis insights and on-pitch performance.
This is a hands-on position at the heart of the first team's daily operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality set piece analysis while also supporting coach-ready analysis across training, live match scenarios, and individual player development. If you are passionate about football, possess a meticulous eye for detail, and are eager to contribute to a professional environment, we would like to hear from you.
This position will be offered on a full-time permanent basis, with the successful applicant available to work matchdays, evenings, and weekends as required. You will be required to travel to all first team home and away fixtures as well as training camps.
Main Responsibilities
- Leading the department's set piece analysis process for restarts, working directly with the coaching department.
- Analysing our set piece performance each week, including routines, deliveries, markers, and blockers.
- Driving opposition set piece analysis to produce intelligence for every fixture, including routines, key personnel, and threats.
- Supporting set piece training on the grass while reviewing sessions with the coaching staff.
- Travelling with the first team to all home and away fixtures and training camps.
- Managing match-day analysis logistics, equipment, and connectivity at home and away venues.
- Supporting individual player analysis and clips to assist with individual development plans alongside the coaching staff.
- Utilising the Club's analysis platforms (Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, Wyscout, Opta, etc.) to agreed standards.
- Maintaining analysis equipment and ensuring footage and data are stored securely in line with Club policy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
