Fit Out Supervisor – Building Services
City of London | £67,500 + 5% Bonus | 12-Month FTC | Client-Side
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fit Out Supervisor to join the in-house engineering team at a prestigious, newly developed commercial property in the City of London.
Working client-side within a high-profile Building Services environment, the Fit Out Supervisor will act as the landlord engineering representative during tenant fit-out projects. Tenants will manage their own fit-outs, while you will oversee the works from the landlord side, ensuring proposed installations, modifications and integrations remain compliant with building standards, safety procedures and the base-build infrastructure.
This is a supervisory-level position with no direct reports, but you will need to be confident dealing with tenants, contractors, consultants, engineering teams and senior stakeholders throughout the fit-out process.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee tenant fit-out works from a landlord engineering perspective
- Review tenant and contractor RAMS and ensure works comply with site standards
- Issue and control Permits to Work
- Review and manage access to landlord plant areas and risers
- Attend tenant fit-out and engineering coordination meetings
- Liaise closely with tenants, fit-out contractors, M&E consultants and the wider property team
- Monitor works for any potential impact on landlord or base-build infrastructure
- Coordinate and supervise electrical, mechanical and HVAC-related works
- Manage and monitor plant and system isolations
- Verify commissioning and integration of new installations into existing building systems
- Inspect contractor works and ensure they are completed to the required quality and engineering standards
- Ensure O&M information and relevant engineering documentation is kept up to date
- Escalate defects, incidents and technical issues to the engineering management team
- Support fault-finding and diagnostics across building services where required
- Maintain strong communication around plant status, ongoing works and critical isolations

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
