Are you passionate about helping people stay active, healthy and independent?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivating Fitness Coach to join our team at Paramount Place, our exciting new retirement community in Tunbridge Wells.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering outstanding health and wellbeing experiences for our residents and the wider community. Working across our excellent wellbeing facilities, including the Hydrotherapy Pool, E-Gym and Fitness Studio, you will create safe, engaging and personalised fitness opportunities that help people build strength, mobility, confidence and independence.
This is a permanent, 30-hour-per-week role, with shifts that could fall on any day across a 7-day working week, so flexibility is required.
What you'll be doing
Working closely with the Wellbeing Manager, you will support the delivery of a varied and inclusive wellbeing programme. No two days will be the same, from delivering group exercise classes and one-to-one training to carrying out fitness assessments and helping residents achieve their personal goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering safe, effective and enjoyable group and one-to-one exercise sessions
- Conducting fitness assessments and creating tailored exercise programmes
- Supporting residents to improve their strength, mobility, balance, confidence and overall wellbeing
- Leading engaging sessions in the E-Gym and Fitness Studio
- Providing guidance on safe exercise techniques and equipment use
- Supporting the safe operation of the hydrotherapy pool and wellbeing facilities
- Encouraging residents of all abilities and confidence levels to take part
- Monitoring progress and helping residents stay motivated and achieve their goals
- Carrying out routine equipment and facility checks and reporting any faults or risks
- Maintaining accurate records of assessments, attendance and progress
- Supporting wellbeing events, open days and activities within the village
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the village to promote a culture of health and wellbeing

What we're looking for
You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and is passionate about helping others remain active, independent and confident.
Ideally, you'll have:
- A recognised Fitness Instructor qualification, with a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification desirable
- Experience delivering exercise programmes for older adults or other specialist populations
- Confidence delivering both group exercise sessions and one-to-one training
- A friendly, empathetic and motivating approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong awareness of health and safety, safeguarding and emergency procedures
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work proactively as part of a team
- Experience using digital fitness systems, such as E-Gym, would be beneficial
- Training or experience in hydrotherapy or aquatic exercise would be advantageous

You will also need to be willing to undertake further relevant training and qualifications, including areas such as first aid, pool responder and pool plant operations where required.
An Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate. A DBS check and medical clearance will also be required.
