Workout Central – Newcastle upon Tyne

Multiple positions available Hours: Approximately 20–40 hours per week, depending on availability and operational requirements Pay: £12.71 per hour Benefits: Complimentary Workout Central club membership Schedule: Rota-based, including early mornings, evenings and weekends

About the Role

Workout Central is looking for enthusiastic, reliable and customer-focused Fitness & Front of House Team Members to join our growing team at our Newcastle city-centre facility.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining fitness-floor duties, member service, reception and front-of-house responsibilities, together with supporting our on-site Café Revive.

We're looking for people who enjoy working with members, take pride in delivering excellent customer service and are comfortable moving between different areas of the club rather than spending an entire shift behind a reception desk.

The role would suit someone looking to develop their career within the fitness industry while gaining experience across the wider operation of a premium health and fitness facility.

Both part-time and full-time hours may be available. We are particularly interested in candidates whose availability can help us cover a mixture of early mornings, evenings and weekends.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Fitness & Front of House Team Member, you'll work alongside our management team, Personal Trainers and instructors to help provide a safe, welcoming and professional environment for our members.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a friendly and professional welcome to members and guests
  • Reception and front-of-house duties
  • Maintaining an active and approachable presence on the gym floor
  • Assisting members with equipment and general fitness enquiries
  • Conducting gym inductions where appropriate
  • Supporting the safe opening and closing of the facility alongside the duty manager
  • Monitoring the presentation, cleanliness and general condition of member areas
  • Assisting with membership enquiries and facility tours
  • Supporting Café Revive during busy periods
  • Preparing and serving coffees, smoothies and other Café Revive products following training
  • Helping maintain appropriate cleanliness, hygiene and operating standards within the café
  • Providing additional operational support during busy periods
  • Supporting member activities and events where required
  • Delivering or assisting with fitness classes where appropriately qualified
  • Working flexibly across the facility to help provide an excellent member experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is very much a hands-on team role. We are looking for people who are happy to get involved wherever they are needed and who understand that excellent member service involves much more than simply operating a reception desk.

  • Friendly, confident and professional when dealing with members and guests
  • Reliable and punctual

  • Comfortable maintaining a clean, organised and well-presented environment
  • Able to use initiative and respond appropriately when the facility becomes busy
  • Availability to work a rota that may include early mornings, evenings and weekends
