Fitness to Practice Solicitor - National - Up to £85,000
A leading national law firm is seeking a Fitness to Practice Solicitor to join its highly regarded Healthcare Regulatory team in any of their National Offices.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop specialist expertise in professional discipline and healthcare regulatory law. The successful candidate will join a nationally recognised team advising healthcare professionals on complex, sensitive and often career-defining matters, with exposure to a broad range of regulatory, disciplinary and inquest work.
You will work closely with experienced lawyers across a national practice, advising individual professionals, insurers and organisations on a variety of healthcare regulatory issues while benefiting from genuine advocacy opportunities and strong career progression prospects.
The Role:
- Manage your own caseload of healthcare regulatory and professional discipline matters with appropriate supervision
- Advise healthcare professionals facing regulatory investigations and proceedings
- Represent clients at inquests and pre-inquest review hearings
- Advise clients in relation to disciplinary proceedings and workplace investigations
- Assist clients involved in police investigations and related proceedings
- Prepare detailed witness statements, submissions and regulatory responses
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical advice on complex issues
- Liaise with regulators, clients, barristers and other stakeholders
- Support senior lawyers on high-profile and sensitive matters
- Supervise and mentor junior team members where appropriate
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery
- Participate in business development initiatives and networking opportunities

About You:
- Qualified Solicitor status with 2+ years' PQE
- Experience in healthcare regulatory, professional discipline, regulatory, litigation or public law matters
- Knowledge of professional regulators and disciplinary processes
- Advocacy experience or a strong desire to further develop advocacy skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and analytical abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused mindset
