An exciting opportunity is available for a Fitter working within the Turbines team in Bristol.
Turbines UK Operations are seeing a period of transition, with load forecast changing in a number of areas within the Assembly facility. Thereby we are looking to recruit additional fitting resource to support the in load of new work.
What you will be doing:
- Responsible for fitting of hardware at component and assembly level in line with instructional method alongside relevant specifications.
- Working across a broad range of products with often tight timescales.
- Proactive approach to production system sustainment, with ability to constantly identify and implement improvements.
- Focus on safety, quality, customer, and delivery.
- Managing all tasks in line with FOD & Segregation adherence as set out in the Defence UK policy.
- Understanding priorities and owning the commitments for turnaround of tasks.
- Team player with energy and drive to succeed.
Preferred qualifications:
- Time served apprentice with appropriate aero-engine inspection skills.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3, City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
Preferred requirements:
- Working knowledge of aerospace strip and build procedures.
- Working experience of fitting tools and techniques.
- Computer literate.
- Able to work at pace whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to fully interpret instructional / fitting drawings.
- Flexibility to cover a variety of tasks with often changing priorities.
- Ability to learn new skills & product appreciation quickly.
- Although not essential, an appreciation of Balancing, risk assessment, and COSHH is desirable.
