Fitter - Halstead - Day Shift - Full Time - From £32,000 (DOE)
We are currently recruiting for a Fitter to join a growing manufacturing company based in Halstead. This is a full time, permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, varied project work, and genuine career progression. This role would suit an experienced Fitter with a background in construction, joinery, or commercial fit-outs who enjoys working across multiple trades to produce high-quality bespoke projects. Metalwork background is also advantageous.
About The Role
Working within a busy workshop, you will be responsible for the fit-out, installation, and finishing of bespoke hospitality units, food trailers, kiosks, and modular buildings. As a Fitter, you'll work from technical drawings to complete projects from fabrication through to final installation, ensuring every build meets the highest quality standards. No two projects are the same, making this a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in producing a quality finish.

Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out the internal fit-out of bespoke trailers, kiosks and modular units
- Installing wall systems, insulation, cladding, flooring and ceilings
- Completing joinery and carpentry work, including counters, cabinetry and bespoke fixtures
- Assisting with plumbing installations, drainage systems and equipment connections
- Supporting first-fix and second-fix electrical installations
- Mechanical assembly of fabrication (metalwork) is advantageous
- Installing commercial kitchen equipment, extraction systems and service areas
- Reading and working from technical drawings and project specifications
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively

The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Fitter, Shopfitter, Joiner, Carpenter
- Experience within construction, fit-out, modular buildings or manufacturing
- Practical plumbing and electrical installation experience, using wood, metal & plastic
- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Competent using hand tools and power tools
