At Arriva TrainCare we provide high quality overhaul, maintenance and servicing of passenger rolling stock, locomotives, freight wagons and track plant. We operate throughout the UK from six strategic locations – Crewe, Bristol, Eastleigh, Cambridge, Tyne Yard and Scarborough.

The Role
Working in our Crewe depot and reporting into the Heavy Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible maintaining rail vehicles to the laid down procedures.
Responsibilities
- Carry out work as allocated by the Team Leader / Heavy Maintenance Manager within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
- Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures.
- Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instruction.
- Ensure that work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work.
- Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
- Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary action is taken on items raised.
- Undertake Safety Critical Work Regulations assessments under the guidance of the Team Leader, taking remedial action where necessary.
- Carry out any duties within level of competence, as requested by the Team Leader / Heavy Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain good housekeeping and standard of cleanliness throughout depot at all times.
- Use of all PPE in accordance with Standards and Local Instructions.
- Assist as directed by the Team Leader / Heavy Maintenance Manager to ensure Rolling Stock availability / reliability targets are met.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications – must have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience – involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities
Knowledge – good understanding of depot operations with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Engineering – strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering
